The Good:  A1C=5.6, Total Cholesterol=146, Fasting BG's=122

The Bad:    3 Sep 09, Cardiac Catheterization and one stent emplaced (for a total of three now since the triple by-pass).

The Ugly:    continous bouts of angina, mostly at night after removal of the nitroglycerine patch.

Some days are diamonds, some days are stones.

Dear Don,

What a great A1C!  Sorry about all your heart problems and especially about the angina.  Hope you have many more diamonds than stones.

Does Dr. recommend moderate exercise like walking or swimming for the angina?

A stone is just a diamond-in-waiting!

Good luck!

A diamond is a piecee of coal under pressure.

Best  to you. Feel better.

My wife and I try to walk 30 to 45 minutes six nights a week.  Depending on the weather we walt the neighborhood or go to a nearby shopping mall and walk the inside perimeter of both floors.  Some nights the angina keeps me from walking, other nights the nitro spray keeps me walking.  The hardest part is sleeping...I can't lay flat without angina pain.  So I adjust, I sleep in my Norwegian Recliner.  This getting old is definitely not for sissies!

This is the third time I have tried to give u a reply Don but like you I won't give up!!!!

Those were " good " scores.......and the successful surgery catheterization was not " bad" in my view.....and as far as the "ugly" well ......I wish u good luck with the angina......keep being strong!
