Dear Jen,

I too have learned not to nap (or at least too much).  Otherwise I wake up at 2:00 in the morning wide awake!  Glad you got your swimming and errands done even though it was raining.

The most difficult part of being retired is....

shall I swim today or go practice putting??

HMMMMMMMMMMMM?

or take a walk around the lake..

or hike in the desert..

???

CHOICES...what I have in abundance now and appreciate so very much..

USE your time for YOU...and whatever is important to you.

no more interminable boring  meetings

no more deadlines..

WOW....I love it......

and I still do some freelance photography and I volunteer....but..

not SEVEN DAY A WEEK!

Now if I had more money..I'd travel more but..

still

MOST appreciative of finally having some free time........................

and........today..fianlly decided...........Swimming!

Tylersyndney;  Funny you mention travel.  I always thought that when my husband and I retired we'd travel a lot.  Our friends do and report wonderful experiences.  But I have lost the wanderlust urge.  Now that everyday is a vacation, the need to "vacation" has diminished.  I am more content to see the small, seasonal  changes in our gardens and woods in Maine than to see the large world outside.
