Hello All and hope it was a safe Halloween at your house!

I went for my first time to a dermatologist for a whole body check.  All was good, she said I had healthy skin for a 58 year old!  But of course I was too tanned.  Just got back from 10 days in Florida on an unplanned trip.

I told her that the skin on either side of my big toes in the cuticle area has been dry and cracked for about 5 years.  I had been to a podiatrist for a check up with no luck, and my regular doctor that sees me said it was nothing....and even my endo just said to put lotion on it.  Well, this dermatologist immediately did a scraping on the end of my big toe onto a slide and said she would let me know via phone call in 2 hours if it was nothing.  I have a fungus!  I am on a nitrate 1% creme  2X a day for 4 weeks!  Now what are your comments on that?  Have u had this done?  Is this dangerous for me to have had this fungus and not know it and being diabetic.  It made me happy but also mad.

Greetings! I was wondering if you had heard of anyone taking Doxycycline Hyclate 100 mg ( for kids bemishes )? My 16 daughter has taken it for 2 months now and last night she swalled it with plenty of water and within 30 minutes there was a blood curdiling screem! The capsule had exploded in her throat and she could not breath and the pain was stated as if someone had shoved a curling iron down her throat! I rushed her to the emergency and they stated that the capsule had indeed come back up or did not go down, the end result was "chemical burns" to her throat, sinuses and tear ducts! She is a pretty tough kid and she was a mess. She began shaking uncontrollably, could not breath on her own and was crying super hard due to the pain! I felt so bad for her.

Good heavens!  What an ordeal!  I have no expertise to offer, unfortunately, but I do hope your daughter is recovering from all that.
