Your springy-legged fowl, Don, reminded me of this children's poem:

The turkey shot out of the oven

The turkey shot out of the oven
and rocketed into the air,
it knocked every plate off the table
and partly demolished a chair.

It ricocheted into a corner
and burst with a deafening boom,
then splattered all over the kitchen,
completely obscuring the room.

It stuck to the walls and the windows,
it totally coated the floor,
there was turkey attached to the ceiling,
where there'd never been turkey before.

It blanketed every appliance,
It smeared every saucer and bowl,
there wasn't a way I could stop it,
that turkey was out of control.

I scraped and I scrubbed with displeasure,
and thought with chagrin as I mopped,
that I'd never again stuff a turkey
with popcorn that hadn't been popped.

T2, diagnosed 12/98.  Diet and exercise 2/03 - 11/08.  Now back on metformin 500 ER.

After two years...stuck within 8 pounds up and down and up again...I started a pretty strict 1200 Cal  diet.

(back to logging foods...bought  a food scale....at last..very helpful.....etc..)

on Nov-1..

down 11 pounds so far.....feeling great...

However...I am faced with THREE Thanksgiving dinners..

My PLAN..is to think of it as a progressive dinner..

Veggies at 1PM, turkey at 3PM and dessert at 5PM..

I am aiming at 400 calories at each ....

We'll see how successful I am!

On Friday morning!

  Can it be that there are NO posts in the last two days?  Unreal!

Are you all in the kitchen cooking food for the big day?  I wish all a Happy Turkey day ....I have an 18 pounder thawing in the fridge .....and lots of food to cook tomorrow.
