I had a great first week on Weight Wathers.  I lost 6.6 pounds.  I find it annoying however,  that my scale, which carries the WW name is a good 30 pounds lower than the scale at the meeting.  It dirves me crazy that I can't weigh myself during the week.  Last week I went to the office on Saturday and asked the woman to weigh me without writing it in my book.  I felt better after knowing I had, at that point lost almost 4 pounds.  I need to get a new analog scale since I seem to have problems with the digital kind.  And anyway, as I have said in the past, I know I'm fat and I don''t need BMI or other idiotic calculations that the digital scales come loaded with, to tell me so.

Here in Massachusettts the Governor (and I'm sorry to say I voted for him) wants to weigh all children in certain grades and send a report home to the parents if their BMI is over a certain number.  I wrote to him immediately and said that children who  are fat have enough problems in school, what with being picked on and made fun of.  I suffered terribly in school as a child.

They wrote back to me and said that children's heiht and weight is recorded by the school nurse anyway and they would just be reporting the information to the parents (like as a parent you don't know if you kid is fat or not).  I can just see this.  In a few years thye will be putting the "obese" (why can't we call fat, fat) in a fat class for extra exercise or some how finding some way to single them out so the other kids can find another reason top ick on them and I have a feeling that the rate of eating disorders will increase.

Jen, you go girl!  Congrats on a great first week.  I recently returned to WW, I wanted to see what all the scoop was on Momentum.  I had not been to WW in about 4 years, and I was still at my maintenance weight.  But.......it is due to diligence on my part, and Byetta.  It really does curb your appetitite and really helps with maintaing your weight.  I am also hypothyroid and fortunately my thryoid is at optimal numbers.

I have a Tanita scale.  I love it, it does have the BMI but I don't use it.  It is the best scale I have ever used.  And it is always right with my Joslin scale, so no surprises when I go to the clinic.

It is really good to see you posting,  Dee.
