Hello:

Just recently diagnosed with Type 1 and doing very well. Had the laser treatment done on my eyes a month ago, and lately I've been seeing flashing lights in my eyes.

Would like some feedback on this.

Thank you, John

This could indicate a retinal detachment.  I would go to a retina specialist as soon as you can.  Or call the one that did the laser and ask advice.

Thank you, Julia, for your reply.

I will have it checked immediately.

Are you an eye health professional?

John Sullivan:

No, I am a Type 1 diabetic who has had both retinal detachments (both eyes), and a macular hole in one eye that was treated with a vitrectomy.  My retina specialists always told me that if I saw flashing lights or "pepper dots", I should go in to see them, because it could indicate another retinal detachment that might need immediate treatment.

Let us know how it turns out, John.
