Why is there sweet taste in mouth? Is it a sign of diabetes? Sweet taste in mouth can indeed be seen in patients with diabetes. As we know, diabetes have three typical symptoms, increased thirst, increased hunger and increased urine. Due to high blood sugar, internal secretion becomes out of order, which stimulate the taste bud in the tongue. In this case, patients with diabetes feel taste in mouth. So at this time, we should strictly control the blood sugar.http://www.stemcellscn.com/diabetes/837.html

Dear Board:

Another way to think about it is that when the blood glucose is high the amount of glucose in the saliva increases giving the impression of a sweet taste in the mouth.
