Hi Fred, Catherine came looking for info on the ADA boards and I immediately thought of you and knew that you would help her out. Glad that you saw the message so soon cause I know that things are not as active over here. They just changed the ADA boards and it is quite the mess right now. No warning even because things got all out of hand before they could test it. I think of you as a huge success story for the surgery.

If you have type 1 diabetes you will always need insulin.

I have just checked your bio and note: 

"For the last 13 years I have been a diabetes nurse educator working at Joslin for the last eleven."  For those of us who don't know you or that you are at Joslin, it would be helpful if you included that info in your posts.  Thanks.

T2, diagnosed 12/98.  Diet and exercise 2/03 - 11/08.  Now back on metformin 500 ER.
