All of those generalized infections seem to knock the stuffing right out of us.  Rest as much as you can.

OUCH!!!!!!

I went to the Cub Pharmacy to get my Valtrex and found out I am now in the beloved "donut hole". The Valtrex would cost me over $200.00. Fortunatly the Pharmacist knows of a generic so she will get the OK from my Doctor.

Ugh, I had shingles more than several years ago.  The bumps appeared on part of my forehead, and Hubster said I looked like a half-breed Romulan.  I saw the dr before the bumps erupted into blisters, and got a prescription for Zovirax.  I never did get the full, weeping sores, so I missed out on the extreme pain and burning and itching that usually goes with shingles.

The FATIGUE was what clobbered me.  I stayed home from work for a week, and took several naps a day!

Baking soda in the bathwater helps, as does the colloidal oatmeal stuff called "Aveeno."  And if you get the actual weeping blisters, good old calamine is extremely helpful

Shingles--UGH!  Hope your second prescription of Valtrex finally does the trick!

Since my shingles are where I sit, It might take a little longer. Things are improving quite a bit and I'm now on over the counter stuff.

I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

Fortunately it hasn't seemed to effect my Diabetes.

Unfortunately I didn't hear about the shot until it was too late. My Wife got it though.

Finally, it's about 90% over. The Doctor said that once you've had it you can't get it again. What a relief that is!

My insurance paid for the shot (about $250) but not the $20 injection fee.... at a Walgreen's mini-clinic.

I had it last week with no side effects. It is heat sensitive and has too be injected within 30 mins pf being thawed... ....(it is stored frozen) so..in the AZ heat...no way to get it safely to my Drs. office...

My nurse made me sign a paper stating that I would pay the fee for the shot, $200 if my insurance did not pay.  I got my EOB yesterday, they paid $178 for it and I owed $0 copay. I would have gladly paid for that shot if they had not after seeing my DH suffer with the pain and burning six years after his attack of shingles.  He is on the maximum dosage of Lyrica for the pain and it does nothing for it most days.  He has insomnia all the time too.  Anyone on the fence about recieving this shot should be aware of possible complications, but I have seen first hand how it wrecks your health if you do get a really bad case.  Dee
