Well, I finally went past 45 pounds last week,  Down 1.8 to 46.6.  Bu the best news is that I am tracking my measurements and I have lost five inches in the last month, 2 inches off my waist and 3 inches off my hips.  I was astounded.  I could see changes when i looiked in the mirror but the numbers just blew my mind away.

I did WW when they first came into being (and it only cost $2.00 a week) and I lost 84 pounds, but it was very difficult as it was a diet plan that you needed to stick to.  Onions and carrots were restricted foods as were tomatoes, peas and corn.  It is so much easier now, I can eat nearly anything I want.  The only problem I have is remembering to count carbs and not just points.  Generally I eat Veggies tree times a day.  Salad at lunch and dinner and sauteed veggies in my omelet in the morning.  You have to eat two teaspoons of heart healthy oil a day, so I sautee my veggies in the olive oil and it's done.

Well, enough rambling.  Just wanted ot give you guys an update.  Aiming to be at 50 pounds by my Doctor appointment in August.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Jen you are doing great. I'm impressed.

On the heart healthy oil, you may also want to consider canola oil. In my view it is even more healthy than olive oil, as it has half the saturated fat, and 10 times the omega-3. Also it is usually cheaper. But, olive oil has a distinctive taste and if that is what you are after, it is not there in canola.

Jen:  You are to be congratulated!  And to see inches come off as well as pounds must be very rewarding!

Like Ron, I use canola oil plus olive oil for food prep.  Canola is very healthy and when you do not want the flavor of olive oil it makes a great addition to your diet.  Sometimes I like the tang of olive oil, sometimes not.  Canola gives me another choice.  My dietitian (herself a vegetarian) recommended adding a small amount of canola oil to vegeatble dishes to round out the healthy fat segment of our diets.

Keep us posted on your progress.  We're rooting for you!

Hi Everyone:

Thanks for all of the comments and good wishes.  It is partly because of the people here and the ones on the Diabetes Discussion Board at WW that it makes it easier, particularly when things move rather slowly.

I use canola oil cooking spray for most things, but for sauteed veggies I like the flavor of olive oil.  Thanks for that nice chart Ron, it is very helpful.  I bought a bag of garlic bulbs at the fruit stand last time I was there, and last week I roasted three bulbs (there were 7 or8 in the bag).  I just love roasted garlic and could make a meal of it.

Hope that everyone has a nice weekend.  The sun was out here today for the second day in a row.
