I am a Type 1 Diabetic, and i have pretty good control of my diabetes (A1C=7.3) but whenever my blood sugar goes high my body gets extremely sore and achy. My muscles hurt, even to the touch. Does this happen to anyone else?

I am a type 2 on insulin and YES, when my blood sugar is too high, I do tend to feel sick and everything seems to hurt. I also shake, which my Doctor insists only happens when too low.  HE IS SO WRONG!

He also says that  something other than the diabetes causes the aches. I ask what then? I GET NO ANSWER.

Make sure you are drinking enough water. High sugars will dehydrate you very fast which may be a reason why you feel achy. Water seems to help- not tea or coffee or sodas, but pure water.
