Since my husband was diaganosed in Feb and had his tube feeding changed to Glucera he has been having diarrhea a few times a day. His local doctors have not been any help. Does anyone have any suggestions>  Penny

Penny, I remember looking at the label on Glucerna a long time ago, and think I recall that it has some sugar alcohols or artificial sweeteners, extra fiber, or something that the regular cans of Ensure didn't have.  Some of these ingredients have been known to cause diarrhea.  When I Googled "Glucerna diarrhea" I found this http://www.childrenwithdiabetes.com/dteam/2009-03/d_0d_fgz.htm which might be something to discuss with your husband's doctor, and see if there may be some alternatives.

Nance, T2 dx 7/98; diet and exercise/no meds 11 yrs; recently giving 500mg Glucophage XR a go to help combat A1c creep; A1c avgs in the 6s.  Workouts: 30 minutes treadmill walking, 20 minutes elliptical, and resistance moves.
