I hope I am not boring everyone with this, but I so value your support that I feel I should post the milestones as they occur.  This week I lost 4.4 pounds for a total of 54.2.  Another .8 to go and I will be 25% of the way to my ultimate goal.  I try not to think about that too much because it is so far away.  So my new interim goal is to reach 75 pounds and maybe 60 by my next Dr. appt.  He has me coming back in a month so he can keep tabs on me.  He also told me that in hot humid weather, it puts a terrible strain on the heart and in overweight people itis worse.  Fluid retention is a definite problem for me in summer.

The  other news is that I re-joined the Y last week only to find out that the pool is closed this week for cleaning and maintenance (the whirlpool also).  The good news is that they no longer charge for water aerobics, you just show up.  I'm hoping to go at least three times a week, but have to figure out how to do breakfast.   I generally eat breakfast around 6:00 AM.  I guess I should be able to exercise two hours later.  I generally eat a big breakfast and it holds me a long time.  Sometimes I don't eat lunch until 2:00 or 3:00 PM.

Well, I won't bore you anymore. Hop everyone is having a nice weekend.  By the way I posted a new picture today.

Jen you are doing fantastic. It often becomes harder to lose weight after you have already lost a bunch, but you seem to be able to keep it up.

On the breakfast before the aerobics, are you concerned about the old rule of not swimming for two hours after eating? We were taught that in Red Cross swimming lessons, 50 years ago. However, I understand that there is no evidence that eating and swimming causes any risk of cramps (as we were told), and this recommendation has been dropped.

I have found that the best time for me to exercise is right after I eat. If I wait two hours and then exercise, my BG will be rapidly going down at that point, and combined with exercise can often put me into a significant low. That is not at all pleasant. So I find my ideal time is exercise in the hour or hour and a half right after eating. I've never experienced any signs of cramping.

Congratulations, Jen, on your continued motivation and planning!  Getting all fired up to start a lifelstyle change is often the easier thing.  To keep the momentum going is sometimes the challenge.  And you seem to be able to rise to that challenge.  I like the new picture.

And you are not boring us.  Nothing better than to share, even from afar, in someone's success.  Keep us posted.

A man at my local lap pool began to walk in the water about 7-8 weeks ago.

His Dr said: "no new hip til you lose 40 lbs.."

so..he has lost 30 in 7 weeks and they went ahead and scheduled his surgery for the end of Sept...

He had not exercised in 30 years..

So..with just 45 mins of water walling in water.... and more attention to diet..He lost enough to get a new hip..and a new life..

YOU are doing great..

keep it up.

and no one is EVER BORED with news of any sort..

This board is for sharing..the good ...the bad.... and the ugly..

Just report and never worry that anyone will be anything but pleased that you are engaged!!.

Jen, please continue to share your success with us.  It keeps me motivated as well, it is never boring to hear about your journey to a healthier you.  I envy you the pool to exercise, wish I could do that since my hip is my issue that keeps me from exercising like I want to.

The new photo sure shows confidence, you are doing it!  Yeah!!
