I am glad to find out that gastric pacemaker has saved your life. However, what I am interested is kind of instruments using electrical pulses to improve microcirculation and neural transportation. I am not sure about the efficacy of such method.

I am on a gastric pacer from my gastropersis. It has saved my life!!! Think of it as a pacemaker for your stomach. These devices are very rare because they are only given on a humantarian basis as per FDA rules. I would be happy to tell you more. Let me know how things are going.

My Doctor just perscribed a Tens unit for me because I have a lot of shoulder pain. Yours is the first comment I've seen on them. Thank you.

Are you talking about a TENS unit? These are used for pain control, I one once when it was vey new and I had a ruptured disc in my back. it did not work for me but then again, nothing worked for me because I really needed surgery. I had never heard of it being used for neuropathy but that doesn't mean much.

Okay, I'll show my ignorance. The only adjustable electical pulse machines I have been aware of is the one my Neurologist used to determine the amount of damage I had from diabetic neuropathy. This is the only thing I am aware of them being used for. When I asked my neurologist if they helped in treatment, he said no, only for diagnosis of extent of damage and for other neurological tests. Now he may not have felt it necessary to tell me more, but you can be assured I am going to ask.

I will be sure that I don't let any health care provider use one on me. Only licensed MD's and DO's who have been trained to know the damage they can cause when improperly used.

As a healthcare provider, I was introduced a new device using adjustable electrical pulse to treat diabetes complications, especially neuropathy and peripheral diseases.

Does the method of electrical stimulation really work for DM complications? Is it generally accepted in clinical practice?
