You're bound to organize or be invited to a grill over the next couple of weeks, so if you're tired of eating the same things (or worse, of avoiding the same things) over and over, this is for you.

You will need:

1 can of chickpeas, drained and liquid reserved

1/2 cup sesame seeds

1 clove garlic

3 tbsp lemon juice

chopped up fresh parsley for garnish

In a blender or food processor mix bean liquid, sesame seeds and garlic. Add beans, lemon juice and salt/pepper if desired, and mix until creamy (you may have to scrape it off the sides a couple of times during mixing). It's perfect with fresh veggies or pita bread wedges (I throw some Joseph's Bakery pita for diabetics on the grill to make it nice and crunchy), but it's also great as a sandwich spread or in salads.
