Hi, I am recently learning about what I can do to not get Diabetes.  I need to figure out a meal plan for myself.  I was thinking 3 meals a day and three snacks.  Helpful tips would be of great help.

Dear Jeannette:

The most important things to do from a lifestyle prespective are to achieve or maintain an appropriate body weight and to remain active.  In terms of diet, eating more whole grains, fruits and vegetables, legumes and lean protein sources.  Choose fewer foods made from refined grains, the less processed the better.
