To Eric or moderator: What is the difference between "Message Boards" and "Groups" and why aren't the latter active?

I posted a favorite recipe on the "Meal Planning" message board, but I noticed there is a "Healthy Recipes" group. What is the difference between the message boards and the groups and why was I denied access when I tried to post to the Healthy Recipes group?

In a nutshell the Meal Planning message board is like all the other boards around here but the Healthy Recipes group is more like a yahoo group.

The groups have their own blog, home page, forum and media group. The groups (of which there is only the one right now) is not really implemented yet but we are looking into. I would say for now to post in Meal Planning instead.
