Thought I would get on the computer today and wish you all a happy Mother's Day and I hope that you all are doing well. I'm just catching up with this thread and I'm sorry to read of your crash Annette, hopefully your back to your normal routine by now. How did you you all like the conference you attended? Maybe you each left with some insight

Hi Everyone, I thought I would come back and fill in some blanks since I've been away for awhile. In September of 2010 I got a new Paradigm 723 pump which was brought on by some other diabetic related causes and at that time my hb1ac reading was 10.0 or 10.1 then. Since then I finished all my physical therapy, occupational therapy, and vestibular

Hi Everybody, Sorry I haven't checked back in sooner. Well I got the pump I needed, did the training online and then again in person (one-on-one). I don't know why, it's not like I failed the first time around. Ha Ha Ha. Anyway, you people were right on the money, I don't know why I didn't get on it sooner or why anyone would ever

  • Re: The Pump

Since I just got on the pump myself, I would say to you like the man above, get the pump you like best! They all do the same job and each one has a unique feature that the others don't. The clinic you mention is going to know the ends and outs of each one by heart. There is no wrong one as far as I can see. Some of the 'extra's I'm talking

Hi Fred, thank you for sharing your insights with me. I haven't been able to respond until now due to a couple of things going on right now, fortunately both are positive! How odd is that ? Ha Earlier this week medtronics distributor called to let me know I was approved for the pump and I received it last Wednesday. So far I've been able to

  • Re: Painful diabetic neuropathy

For the past two years, I have endured neuropathy in my left foot. Everyday from about 11:AM on throughout the day. Each week looking forward to the weekends to get some time off my feet. During a recent hospital stay, I was given gabapentin and it was like a miracle drug. Only just a few days after taking it and having an adverse reaction to it. I

  • Re: New Paradigm Revel pump is arriving today

I saw your question last month but I have no experience with a pump so I could not offer you any information on it. This is the pump I am going to ask for next month when I see the endo specialist. Before I do, I'd like to ask you how are you liking it so far ? Is the cannula about the same size as a regular 30 milimeter pen needle or something

Hey, I just took a look at Julia's medtronic 522 and I see I was mistaken. It seems as though I was needing to be looking at the medtronic Paradigm "Revel" but again that one is still a two stick unit. Thanks Julia for the insulinpumpers dot org link. Tonight when I have time to concentrate, I'll poke around a bit on that site. You

Thank You for the information, I'd read the brochure from cover to cover and still did not catch that. Mainly because it physically resembles the Paradigm so close I associated that it did both. If I have to have two cannula's inserted I'd just as soon have the DexCom 7+ for the CGMS. I was hoping like he*l to find both instruments combined

Thank you Bill for your encouraging reply! I got a call from the Medtronics people today and speaking with the tech rep she did a informal interview with me. It turns out that if my primary doctor is onboard with me getting on the pump, it will mean that I will then not have to take the long lasting insulin for my sleeping 'lows' control. Thats
