I've been using strips as much as a year out-of-date and I have not seen any problems. I was in a business making a product that had a 20 year shelf life but the government wouldn't let us sell the product with an expiration date of more than 5 years from the date-of-manufacture. So I look at the use-by-date with skepticism for many products

Amazon.com has all 5 varieties (and they are eligible for Amazon Prime), but you have to order by the case (the unit cost is around $2.50 US). For those of you not familiar with Amazon Prime, it is a "free" shipping option that costs $80/year that you can share (i.e. split the cost with) 4 other users which brings the individual cost down

I take Byetta because it helps keep my bg levels under control. I went from the high 6's to 5.6 with Byetta and I have stayed under 6 for 4 years now. Medications won't help anyone who doesn't take them when they are supposed to and eat sensibly. I don't know if insulin would have had the same affect on my bg levels, but with Byetta

If you are having a hard time with the nausea just take the shot

I get it at Wal*Mart. You need to check their list of $4 drugs, it will tell you how many pills that covers. I used to be on 500 mg tablets and took 5/day. That quantity (150) tablets was not covered, but 60 tablets of 1000 mg was covered. Apparently their people don't know what the maximum dosage for Metformin is. So I am actually taking a smaller

I take two 1000 mg tablets of Metformin every day and the prescription is only $10 for a three month supply (or $4 for a 30 day supply).

My wife uses Black Cohosh to help relieve the symptoms of menopause. She had your same problem of hot flashes and since taking this supplement the hot flashes (and cold flashes) have gone away almost completely. She buys the generic CVS brand at the CVS pharmacy. For the bg readings you might want to have some kind of snack before going to bed, like
