    Use of metforminover many years can cause low levels of vit.b12 . I was tested for many anemic issues. Placed on oral B 12 1,000 mg for 6 months, then lowered to 500mg a day. I now test in the low normal range for anemia. Nancy

    Julia sorry to hear about your eye problems. I also am very near sighted and have had issues with retinal tears. I have not had macular issues but am at high risk. So I hope things improve for you and your vision is restored. Nancy

    I would check out the DESA web site. Diabestes and Sports Association. They are also having a conference in Boston this June. You should find help there. My kids are big into lifting but I am not able to do so due to eye issues. Boy I would like it though. Nancy

I am an oatmeal fan,little milk,bran and flax added. I front load my day with good carbs. Oatmeal in the early am,fruit ,yogurt after I swim ,sometimes hard boiled eggs for snacks. I am a morning

    Exercise is so important .My dietitien was concerned today when I told her my schedule before I swim 3 days a week. I eat 45 carbs at breakfast at 5:30 am, (oatmeal with fiber and nuts) . At 7:30 I eat 30 more carbs in a coffee shop( no butter english muffin) ,meeting a group for tea. Then when I get to the 'Y" I test,take 3 glucose tabs to

    I also had a B12 problem. Have been taking pills for 6 months. I get another test in March. I have been on metformin for 14 years. My endo also did other tests to make sure I didn't have prenicious anemia . Nancy
